This is a wonderful alternative keyboard for those with vision impairments, and/or physical and/or cognitive disabilities. Along with my Spell-A-Word software, or Q&A for more advanced, it's a great tool for early letter users or emergent literacy!
All keys are easy to see: 1-inch square! 4 times normal size.
Full tactile feedback, just like regular keys.
Easy-to-read key labels (large black printing on bright-white keys, or white characters on black keys; I find the mutli-colored keys distracting but you may find otherwise).
LX Contains all essential characters: 97 character keyset. Compatible with all major software packages. (<Alt> key = Command key, <Ins> key = Option on USB Macs)
Just plug into your
PC's PS2 keyboard port or USB port (** requires H-31B USB adapter **)
or your iMac G3 or
G4's
USB port (** requires H-31B USB adapter **) in place of, or in addition
to your
regular keyboard. There is no ADB connector or adapter for older Macs
available
for BigKeys.
"I strongly recommend the colored rows
option, QWERTY. Telling a learner "It's on the blue row, when
they're searching for a key, really helps! And in all my years of
doing this (21 now), I've only seen a couple of learners actually use
ABC-order to find a key." (RJ Cooper)

Special software below for Windows or Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X accompanies keyboard that allows user to perform all mouse actions by keystrokes! Mac OS 9 and OS X software maps <Alt> key to <Command> key and <Ins> key to <Option> key.
